Well, the months are flying by and despite the rain, our dedicated golfers still keep playing the course. So thank you all for that. Have to ask the question. Why is it that, no sooner do united utilities, introduce a hosepipe ban, the heavens open and it doesn't stop raining?? Still, glad to see that the great british weather isn't putting off our golfers. It has been hard for the greens staff, these last few weeks. With the warm temperatures and the rain, the grass is growing like mad. Everyone keeps telling me that August will see record breaking temperatures. Lets hope it will be in the North West so we can fill the patio with golfers, enjoying a cool drink after their round of golf.
Just a quick note about the Lancashire County Junior Golf Teams, that have recently played against Durham and Yorkshire, both massively close matches with both games finishing a draw. Good luck to the boys for their next Junior game aginst Cheshire. If anyone has any news that they want us to write about, give us a shout at the golf centre and we will do our best to get it out there.
